Real Wedding: The Westin Alexandria

Things are pretty slow in the flower shop these days. The cooler sits quiet and the buckets are all stacked in a corner patiently awaiting the return of the flowers. Thankfully I have a few deliveries headed my way in the coming weeks for some local bridal shows but that’s about it until the late spring.  The winter months are a great time to catch up and share some images from last year’s wedding.  We’re kicking things off this winter with a very vibrant fall wedding from The Westin Alexandria.

The bride Toni came to me only a few weeks out from her wedding day. She was relaxed and flexible and was willing to work with seasonal flowers to compliment her red and gold color palette.  The flowers used in the designs included dahlias, red sexy roses, circus roses, mikado spary roses, mini sunflowers, safflower, celosia,  asclepias, yarrow, china berries, buplerum, freesia, rice flower, stock, ranunculus, craspedia, crocosmia, mini gerber daisies, gomphrenia, lilies, hydrangea and green ivy. Whew!  There was a lot of color and texture going on in these designs. Toni was a dream to work with and she trusted my design skills to deliver beautiful flowers for her wedding.

Here are a few images from Toni and Wes’s wedding.  Thank you to Pam Lepold Photography for sharing these images with us.

Best Wishes Toni and Wes, we were delighted to be a part of your day!  Thank you for donating your elevated centerpieces to the Hospice of Charles County. They were greatly appreciated and enjoyed.
