We were delighted to see our fall style shoot featured on Southern Maryland Weddings blog yesterday! This team of vendors seems to make magic when we work together and it could not have turned out to be a more perfect day for this shoot. Birds of a Feather Photography was behind the lense capturing all the little details. They have a way of making every element look stunning!
As the floral designer I focused on the fall season for color inspiration. Trying to avoid the traditional pumpkins and sunflowers associated with fall, I went for more of a warm cinnamon spice color using mossy greens and burnt orange. Flowers include coffee break roses, orange dahlias, green millet, china berries, yarrow, scabiosa pods, agonais, blue thistle, and eucalyptus. I incorporated pops of navy blue to compliment the bride and grooms accessories along with the rustic blue camping cups and coffee pot. I also included some natural kiwi vine that complimented the driftwood we found along the beach. The garland draped on the back of the sofa was made of green Italian ruscus and real oak foliage that had turned orange.
Erika of Love Nora Adornments braved the sand and water with her beautiful vintage furniture pieces, adorable hand-made sweater votive sleeves. Michelle’s cakes
shared a fabulous, unfrosted apple spice cake that fit perfectly with this location and the more casual look we wanted.
The bride looked gorgeous thanks to the talented work of Dina Thron of Hair It Is Salon and Spa as well as Natural Looks by Victoria who provided make-up. The beautiful lace bridal gown was provided by Today’s Bride in California, Maryland. These ladies know how to make a bride look amazing on her wedding day from head to toe!
The goal with this styled shoot was to create our version of a Southern Maryland waterfront wedding and intimate after party with the bride and groom. A historic Southern Maryland location was chosen to reflect one of Maryland’s many shoreline locations. Maryland is a coastal state with a rich history of marine related activities. Many Maryland residents, including those in Southern Maryland, take part in beach related activities throughout the year. This shoot showcases the beautiful beachfront location of the Cove Point Lighthouse
as a small wedding venue on the water. The charming and beautifully restored inn keeper’s house on the property is also available for rent.
